Activity Agreement
The Activity Agreement is a project that creates individual, tailored programmes for young people for a period of up to twenty weeks. Young people are paid a weekly allowance of £30 for participation. Travel expenses and childcare are also paid for. The AA provides a range of courses (please see the list below) as well as paying for any other course that the young person wishes to do.
Who Is It For?
- Young People aged 16-17 who have been NEET (Not engaged in Employment, Education or Training) for at least 13 weeks
- Vulnerable Young People aged 16-17 who have been NEET for at least 5 weeks
- Young People who have been in receipt of EMA prior to their referral to Connexions and have not been re-engaged into EET within 5 weeks of leaving
- Young People cannot be claiming benefits unless Teen Parent, Care Leaver or Disabled (some exemptions apply)
- Young people will now receive a weekly allowance of £30
Who Are Vulnerable Groups?
- Carers (their own child or other person)
- Gypsy, Roma or Traveler
- Homeless YP (rough sleepers or those in temporary accommodation, refuge, hostel or sleeping on friend’s/relative’s floor)
- Looked After/In Care/Care leaver
- Refugees or asylum seekers who have been granted Refugee Status, Indefinite Leave to Remain, or Humanitarian Protection
- Substance mis-users (in treatment)
- Supervised by YOT
- Young people who have learning difficulties / disabilities (definitions in line with CCIS)
