Date Young Person left the AA: 21.06.2007

Length of time on the Activity Agreement: 23 weeks

Beginning

AchievementsJ was 16 years old and had not been engaged in any activity since leaving school. She was shy and withdrawn and there had been issues of bullying whilst in education.

J had a range of skills but was lacking in self confidence. She wanted to get into the sports industry, as she had aspirations of becoming a coach.

Middle

Sports CoachingJ took part in residential's and other Projects. Achieving a coaching certificate and securing a role as a volunteer to coach other young people, helping her recognise her abilities and boost her self esteem.

I worked with J on her confidence and helped her to focus on positive aspects, reassure and encouraged her to focus on her goal. Each activity J went on helped her realise this.

End

Recognising AbilitiesJ achieved a lot during her time on the Activity Agreement and this is reflected in her updated CV. On leaving the Activity Agreement J had undertaken three separate first aid sessions and has received certificates for these. She has also received a food hygiene certificate, a child protection certificate, a Level 1 in Football Coaching (accredited by the Football Association), a Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award, an ASDAN certificate of Personal Effectiveness and she was working towards her Young Sports Leader Award.

J is extremely proud of herself and her achievements on the Activity Agreement and this has greatly increased her self confidence.

She said she "Didn't know how to talk to people at the start of AA and now is able to be in front of other children and young people".
